@Ben - the core is still there, they just seem to be looking to innovate a little more. Of course these innovative features will be rolled out according to what consumers are saying.

What I find quite fascinating is that not all change is driven by what the consumer indicates they want, because sometimes they simply don't know.

One of the things that went well for Starbucks is that the changes they implemented were done in public view. No need to hide from their failures - they were relatively transparent about admitting they had gotten things wrong. Consumers appreciate honesty and damn good service.

With alcohol, fruit juices, shipping containers and drive throughs all either launched or planned, Starbucks' core seems to have been forgotten once again......
